Chocolatey Energy Bites
These energy bites make for a delicious & nutrient-packed homemade snack, combining the deliciousness of dates for taste, the creaminess of almond butter, and the heart healthy benefits of hemp seeds.
It’s a satisfying snack that can supply you with a quick energy boost before a workout or to help fuel the mid-day funk especially on those busier days. Bonus: most of these ingredients can likely find themselves in the comfort of your home pantries!
Yields: 10 energy bites
Ingredients
¼ cup oatmeal, uncooked
½ cup walnuts
½ cup dates, pitted
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp ground flaxseed or hemp seed
(optional) 2 tbsp coconut flakes
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp chocolate chips
Instructions
In a food processor, combine oatmeal, dates and walnuts until well combined
Mix in the rest of the ingredients.
Using your hands, create 1.5 TBSP bite-sized pieces and place in a bowl or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Place in the fridge to set.
