5 Ways to Enjoy Chocolate This Valentine's Day

Love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate than with the timeless delight of chocolate! While a simple box of chocolates is always the classic form of enjoyment, why not include it as an ingredient to add a hint of love your homemade meals or snacks?

Chocolate contains compounds called flavonoids, which are known as antioxidants that help the body repair damaged cells through the natural aging process of oxidation. Flavonoids can be found in the highest levels in both dark chocolate and cocoa powder (as they are the least processed) and therefore can make both tasty & healthy additions to your food!

It’s time to cocoa.

1. In Your Oatmeal

Start Valentine's Day on a cozier note by adding in chocolate to your breakfast oatmeal. Try switching things up by adding in cocoa powder or chopped chocolate along with some fresh fruit and a touch of honey or maple syrup for some added sweetness! This decadent breakfast will warm your heart and set the mood for a day filled with love and affection.

2. In Yogurt

Similar to oats, I love mixing dark chocolate chips into plain or Greek yogurt paired with fresh fruit. Whether enjoyed as a light and refreshing snack or a sensuous dessert, chocolate yogurt is a delightful way to savor the sweetness of Valentine's Day with your special someone.

2. As Part of a Snack

Share sweet moments both alone and with your loved ones by enjoying chocolate as part of a delectable snack. Pair it with nuts like almonds, cashews, or hazelnuts for a satisfyingly crunchy treat and some fresh fruit such as strawberries, bananas, or apple slices. The combination of sweet is sure to add a boost of energy to your day, ignite passion and delight your taste buds.

3. In Homemade Bars

Get creative in the kitchen by crafting homemade bars tailored to your preferences. Experiment with different types of pantry items such as oats, nuts, dried fruits, and spices to create unique flavor combinations.

5. In Your Coffee

Transform your morning coffee into a romantic indulgence by adding a touch of chocolate for a luxurious mocha experience. Stir in cocoa powder, a square of dark chocolate into your freshly brewed coffee until melted and blended. This decadent beverage is sure to warm your soul and awaken your senses on this overly love-filled day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
