Spinach Parmesan Burgers

 

This recipes satisfies both a food craving and the weekly urge to empty the fridge! Hope you like it!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground meat of your choice (beef, turkey or chicken)

  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, grated

  • 1 cup of loosely packed baby spinach, choopped

  • 1/4-1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup of quick oats or breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp. coarse ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Your choice of bread

  • Add-ons of choice (ex: lettuce, banana peppers, pickles, red onion, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the oats, cheese, black pepper, salt, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, spinach and olive oil and mix.

  1. Add the ground meat to the mixture. Do not overmix.

  2. Form the mixture into the desired size for your patties.

  3. Cook to the desired doneness — I cooked these for about 3 - 4 minutes each side for a medium-well burger. Note: avoid pressing the burgers as it will release all the good juices. 

  4. Assemble into a burger with your favourite veggies.

  5. Enjoy!
